About Haven Coliving

Haven Coliving was a wellness focused coliving community in Venice, Los Angeles. It has closed. As of November 2026 its website says Haven is no longer accepting new bookings, applications or payments, that tours, applications and the contact form have been retired, and it gives a members email address for former and current residents with questions about stays, deposits or records. Haven was founded by Robert O'Neill and Ben Katz, who described it as a purpose driven, health and wellness coliving community. Its home was in Venice, close to the Abbot Kinney and Penmar areas, and it combined shared bedrooms and private rooms with coworking space, a fitness studio, communal dining and a programme of wellness events. Residents were mainly young professionals, creatives, founders and remote workers who wanted a social, health oriented household near the beach. The founders spoke about the model at startup events and podcasts, and at one stage said they were working on further locations in Echo Park and West Hollywood. We found no evidence that those additional sites opened. Haven also listed beds on hotel and booking platforms, where it appeared as a hostel style property with shared dormitory rooms. At least one booking platform showed the property as closed from February 2025, which is consistent with the wind down now confirmed on Haven's own website. Details on those third party listings should not be relied on. For readers looking for wellness oriented coliving in Los Angeles today, Haven is no longer an option. It is best read as an example of the small, single site lifestyle coliving houses that appeared in Los Angeles in the late 2010s, many of which struggled with high rents, short stays and the cost of running community programming at a small scale. Status: closed. Not bookable. The website at havencoliving.com remains online only as a closure notice.

How the hybrid model works

A hybrid operator mixes models across its portfolio, for example owning some buildings while master-leasing or managing others. This spreads risk and lets the operator move faster in new markets while still building an owned core over time.
